INRENA and annuls decision ordering the suspension of work |

The Regional Agrarian San Martín (DRASAM) revoked the administrative decision to allow the Grupo Romero engage in deforestation and conversion for use of the property called "Palmas del Oriente" in Barranquita district, province of Lamas.
Thus, the emporium is forbidden to conduct business activities in this area, where over a thousand hectares of virgin forests were plundered, as denounced in his time East Broadcasting Yurimaguas.
According to resolution No. 023-2010-GRSM/DRASAM, the decision is made, finding a number of elements that make up an administrative procedural error, which violates the Constitution, laws and regulations.
Among these points, the RD noted that Resolution 208 of the Instituto Nacional de Recursos Naturales (INRENA), which provides the change of land use for Caynarachi Industries Company, is void for failure to comply with the submission of the Study Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) at the appropriate time.
The measure takes into account the repeated requests of the District Municipality of Barranquita to cancel the change of use of these forest lands that are part of the protected territory at this point in eastern Peru.
It is recalled that on 15 January, the Grupo Romero prevented the entry of a joint committee that would monitor and verify the complaint by logging company Caynarachi Industries.
The delegation was composed of the Regional Government of San Martin, the Regional Forestry Authority (ex INRENA), the Prosecutor's Office and other national institutions. However, the security of Grupo Romero didn’t allow the inspection sought to assess the extent of deforestation in the area.
