Authors: Daniel Vecco and Raúl Gonzáles (Amazonian Urku Estudios). N º of pages: 96 Content: 4 chapters. The examples and photos correspond to local species of St Martin Peru. In the Chapter 1 the generalities of the Order are approached Lepidopterous, as well as aspects related to his morphology, anatomy and systematic. The Chapter 2 describes the characteristics of the behavior and biological cycle of butterflies and moths, integrates theoretical knowledge with observations registered locally in species of St Martin. The Chapter 3 touches little known aspects that determine the great diversity of the Lepidopterous ones in the Peruvian jungle. The presence of a high genetic, geographical variability and hybridization, Peru is strongly related to centers of endemismo defined by geographical accidents, as the Mountain chain Stairs in Tarapoto. The Chapter 4 checks some theoretical aspects of the evolution, the ecology of populations and the relations tróficas that establish butterflies and moths with the rest of organisms. The theory is complemented by examples and contributions of the local knowledge. Some surprising phenomena are exposed, as the mimetism, which determines the existence of bosses or models of appearance who are reproduced by several species, even slightly related filogenéticamente. |
