A group of young students and peasants of St Martin tackled it does more than one decade the initiative that in the year 2000 (July 22), gave place to the formal origin of Amazonian Urku Estudios, as a civil association without purposes of profit, in order to improve the quality of life of the Amazonian settler, to preserve the biological, cultural diversity and Amazonian environment, across actions of investigation and agricultural extension, among others.

Diverse experiences and adverse situations, they determined that the perception of which the "slightly lacking one, is strongly associated with the situation of poverty and social crisis in the rural Amazonian way, nevertheless the wealth(richness) and a series of fruitless alternatives developed by prestigious entities public and private. The founding associates of Amazonian Urku Estudios, after an important personnel experience in the productive and organizational field, characterized by the learning of traditional and academic knowledge, of the observation of virtues and faults in the societies, of the scientific experimentation and the empiricism, so much like of the marginalization of some technical sectors, understood that the failure of the policies and initiatives of development takes root in the absence of objective knowledge of the social and natural conditions, particularly on the Amazonia.

The institutional genesis was marked by the effort in spite of the limitation of economic resources, unemployment, family loads, studies and a very much major commitment of service towards by rural organizations, which always were pioneering in new ways of generating wealth, though with little success. For three years, the founders of Amazonian Urku Estudios, constructed his organizational bases, spoiling offers of employment and economic improvement, crossing serious difficulties without losing the aim of social service, managing to take part in indirect form in projects of conservation of the biodiversity from the year 2001 and penetrating successfully into the field of the agrarian investigation one year later into 2002.

For the members of Amazonian Urku Estudios, there is possible the development of technological particular and sustainable alternatives for the Amazonian populations, counting as principal inputs, with the great existing resource in biodiversity and human local resources; it is to say, unlike other experiences, proposes to bet for a process of technological development " from in ", that it implies, besides the ethical development and the vocation of service as habit of life, the promotion of the cognitive capacity of his members. The formative and technological limitations to implement qualit processes in the productive field, of the investigation or transfer, can be mitigated by the disciplined practice of objective methods and a constant search of solutions.
