Prohibit oil in Madre de Dios Book inhabited by isolated ind
Following the completion of the contract Sapet hydrocarbon company, the Book of Mother of God will not be included in the next "auction" of land to companies currently scheduled for the month of May, according to Petroperu. This reserve, inhabited by an indigenous people in isolation condition was established in 2002, but 3 years after the Chinese company Sapet obtained permission to work on it in the area known as Lot 113. "The news of the ultimate disposition of Lot 113 on the map of oil concessions is a fact Perupetro relief as well as ensure the integrity of the isolated peoples of Madre de Dios is an excellent precedent for the protection of isolates from other regions, "said the Native Federation of Madre de Dios River and Tributaries (FENAMAD). In 2006, Sapet agreed not to work in the pool after pressure from FENAMAD and Interethnic Development Association of the Peruvian Rainforest (AIDESEP). But until recently, Perupetro maps describing the reservation and open to exploration. It is noteworthy that in many other parts of Peru, the Peruvian government continues to allow and promote companies like Perenco, Repsol YPF and Petrobras to work in the land of uncontacted indigenous peoples. It should be noted that two years ago a group of 21 uncontacted tribes living in the reserve were photographed from the air. SOURCE: SEVINDI
