Who are we? The Center of Training and Reproduction of the Amazonian Biodiversity - Pukalluichu, is an institutional effort without ends of profit of a group of professional young men and peasants kechwas of the region of St Martin, to generate, to recreate and to spread the scientific and ancient knowledge for the development of an environmental conscience and of instruments that they contribute to a sustainable relation of the Amazonian peoples with his environment. Pukalluichu is a word kechwa that means " coloured(red) deer " (American Mazama), in allusion to this so important species in the natural ecosystems and for the economy of the original communities, which remains demonstrated also in the deep cultural significance that has this species for the Amazonian nations. Location The Center Pukalluichu is located to 3 km from Tarapoto's city (30 minutes afoot), in the microbasin of the gully Shilcayo, in an altitude of 425 meters, in the zone of damping of the Area of Regional Conservation Escalera Mountain. Services From the year 2005, the Center offers certain services ecoturism to the eventual visitors and executes programs of support to the environmental formation of the youth in the region. The visitors' abundance still is insufficient to support the activities of the Center, but last years it has be increasing and nowadays he constitutes a 25 % of the resources which it possesses, being the remaining budget settled uo to a point with small donations of natural persons and in major proportion, the sacrifice of the persons who integrate our equipment." This allows neither improve our services nor to extend them, but we can demonstrate that many of our activities are possible and to motivate to a major quantity of people to preserve the Amazonia " (Roman Pinedo taken charge of the administrative management of the Center). " The services that we offer and the field of our studies are wide and multidisciplinary; in a little time that we take working, we have demonstrated that the Amazonian peoples are in aptitude to reach considerably to the development of the sciences and the technology with a different approach ".
